This project, for a bespoke Passivhaus standard sustainable family home deep in the AONB, is rooted in the principles of paragraph 80. The design gives a contemporary twist to the traditional architecture and materials of a rural Kentish barn to blend seamlessly into the locality. Surrounded by trees, and sunken into the ground, the orientation of the house provides panoramic views of the countryside beyond.
